Our goal in creating this site is to provide a virtual support group for people living with brain injuries. Discussions will be moderated so that input will be both positive and constructive. Establishing connections with others in similar situations will encourage the sharing of experiences, information and tips and exploring the unique challenges that participants face on their journey through an altered reality. The space is to be one in which people feel safe in discussing their issues.
The moderators are Diana Freed, Ph.D and Angela Hudson-Neumann.
Diana Freed’s doctorate, awarded by UCSF, is in Pharmaceutical Chemistry. She is married with two children and was employed by the government using molecular simulation tools to work on chemical and biological defense. She had an AVM bleed which suddenly occurred during her family’s annual New Year’s east coast vacation 2010-11. There followed hospitalization and a month in an acute rehab. After a flight home to California she spent six weeks in a sub acute facility. At present, though greatly improved in several areas, she is far from finished. Diana is uniquely qualified to help lead the discussions that will ensue. Diana’s story
